Tilda Swinton and her Prada Fantasy Fairy Bag
Katherine Mathilda Swinton, famously known as Tilda Swinton, the two-time Golden Globe Award-nominated British actress known for both arthouse (aka “art cinema‿ or “independent film”) and mainstream films. A couple recent movies under her belt include the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, where she played a sinister White Witch Jadis; Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland), an upcoming fantasy horror film by Marilyn Manson. Which are all rather fantasy like, so I guess I wasn’t completely surprised when I stumbled upon these pictures of her at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend toting along the new Prada Fairy Bag.

Goyard Saint Honore Bag
In celebration of the 180th year in fashion, French malletier (trunkmaker) Goyard is releasing a special limited edition clutch called the Saint Honore Bag, named after the first Paris flagship store located at Saint Honore.

Brief fyi history about Goyard: La Maison Goyard was founded in 1853 in Paris. Edme Goyard worked as a malletier for a company then known as Maison Morel (founded in 1792), which his son, Francois, bought out in 1853. At that time, the company was renamed to what we know today as Goyard. At this time the Paris flagship store was located at Saint Honore (hence the name of the special edition designer bag). A couple years later the chevron canvas was created in 1892, and was traditionally produced in black and red.

The special edition Goyard clutch carries a steep retail price of $4100.

Goyard is sold in fewer than fifteen locations worldwide, including three proprietary boutiques in Paris, San Francisco’s Union Square and The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. Other locations include Bergdorf Goodman, select Barneys New York locations and Harvey Nichols Hong Kong. Visit Goyard for the full list.

Designer Gucci Hearts New York Handbag Collection
Come February, Gucci will be opening their doors to the world’s largest, brand new Flagship Store over at 725 Fifth Avenue. For the new boutique, the brands creative director Frida Giannini has designed a selection of exclusive products named “Gucci Hearts NY,” that are to be sold exclusively at the new location.

Here’s a snippet from FWD:

The first collection, “Gucci Hearts NY,” is an ode to the city, where Gucci first opened its doors in 1953. Giannini has taken Gucci’s iconic webbing and its GG pattern canvas and reinterpreted them in white, shiny GG canvas complemented by bold red and royal blue stripes. The “Gucci Hearts NY” moniker, which uses Guccio Gucci’s iconic signature, has been irreverently stamped across the fabric.

Among the product offerings in this category are the Joy handbag, offered in three different sizes, as well as a silk scarf, priced from $320 to $770. A complementary collection of pieces has also been created in the form of a soft briefcase, toiletries bag, hard-sided luggage, a trolley suitcase, and a duffle bag in two sizes that ranges in price from $895 to $6,900….. keep reading

A series of new photos will be running in ‘W’ and ‘Vogue’ magazines this February 2007 featuring the 12-year old movie star. The photo’s were actually shot back in were shot back in mid-November in Los Angeles by Juergen Teller. Marc Jacobs president Robert Duffy was quoted as saying “Marc loves her character and thinks she is beautiful and a great actress. . . He loved the idea of having this young, small girl in the clothes, and we made them in her size to shoot her in.”

Yes, these photo’s are very marc-ish, but personally I don’t like these pictures one bit. I love Dakota Fanning, she is a great actress and very adorable. But these photo’s look off to me. She looks like an 8 year old (she’s 12) playing dress up in her mom’s closet.

Victoria Beckham and her Marc Jacobs Wristlet Clutch
Quilted body with a smooth leather flap top and topped off with the Marc Jacobs signature Trompe l’oeil push-lock closure on front flap with stud accents. The dimensions of this clutch are about 7.5″ x 4″ x 1.5″ with a leather wristlet strap that is about 7″ long. This MJ clutch carries a retail price of $475 via designer super shop eluxury.

The bag above is slightly different than Victoria’s Marc Jacobs clutch. Not a huge difference. The clutch above is the newly released Marc Jacobs Quilted Leather Wristlet, available in exclusive (to eluxury) black or white.

It’s mid-winter right now but I am already thinking for spring. The black is okay, definitely a winter color but I 100% adore the white version, it’s a great addition to anyone’s spring wardrobe.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

I can’t believe I am actually cheering for Dooney right now. Looks like the design team over at Dooney are attempting to re-expand their target market. For the last 2 years Dooney and Bourke has been hit the teen-fashionista’s with the introduction of the Doodle, Star, It, Tattoo and Bubble bag Collections. They have kind been of forgetting about all of the young adults / adults who like simple collections and not cartoon figures.

So if you have been waiting for the day that Dooney introduces a classic looking collection, it’s finally here, the reasonably priced Dooney and Bouke Annalisa Leather Collection.
